On February 25, 2020, the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners awarded Leland Shurin a certificate honoring his years of service to the city. Kansas City’s chief of police, Richard Smith, presented the certificate. Mr. Shurin also received a resolution expressing thanks from The Kansas City City Council.

Mr. Shurin served as a Member of the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, Missouri from 2015 through 2019. He served as President from 1/2017 through 4/2018.
