Kansas City Trash Case Results in $11.6 Million Verdict

SLS attorneys Rick Lombardo, Leland Shurin and Kathy Woods represented a class of apartment owners in a suit against the City of Kansas City, Missouri for contempt of court and breach of contract relating to the City’s failure to pay trash rebate payments to the class in violation of a court order and a written contract. The case was tried in December of 2016 in the Circuit Court of Platte County. The court entered judgment in favor of SLS clients in the amount of $11.6 million in April 2017.
